FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the expectations?
Once inside the classroom, quiet is expected of all students. Students should go to the restroom before class starts, and bring everything they need with them into the studio so as to not disrupt the class by walking in and out during class. Students must remain standing the entire class. Sitting /laying on the floor and hanging on the barres is not allowed. Disruptive and uncooperative behavior will not be tolerated and students misbehaving will be asked to sit out of class or leave the studio. If you are going to be late or miss class, you must call your instructor. Most importantly, students must respect their instructors, their classmates and the studio; i.e. raising hands for a question, not disrupting other classes when in the halls, and cleaning up after themselves.
Can I watch the class?
We will have a special day for parents to observe class. Usually at the end of the semester. Parents will be notified ahead of time. Observation day is TBD.
Will my child perform?
Yes. Every child gets the chance to perform with their level at our annual spring concert, usually one show in late spring. Intermediate and advanced students can be selected for Workshops, a chance to perform different styles in the Spring Concert. If your student is selected to join the Youth Company, they will get the chance to perform The Nutcracker Suite in the winter, usually multiple shows in December.
What is the uniform?
Upon receiving your schedule, you will also be given the dress code for your level.

Flesh toned tights and shoes are also allowed.
Hair is always to be pulled back and out of the face. If it is too short for a bun it may be pulled back with a headband or clips.
No dangly jewelry.
The dress code is MANDATORY, it is to encourage unity and is part of the discipline of dance. Hoodies, sweats, t-shirts, etc. do not allow the teacher to see and correct the body placement of the student, which is critical in the training of young dancers. We do not sell the uniforms. Please see the question below for resources.
