Schedule

Mikhail Baryshnikov
Schedules
Below is a sample schedule for Ballet II (Pink level) and for Adults. After registering, your actual schedule will be emailed. In the "levels" tab below is a description of how many classes per week each level takes and the duration.
Programs
Courses- Classes in ballet, pointe, modern, pilates, and conditioning/strength training, are offered at various levels according to age and technical experience. Classes start at 4 years old.
Pointe- Intermediate level students considered for pointe will start pre-pointe classes. At the advanced intermediate and advanced levels, all classes are taken on pointe. Pointe is offered for adults too.
Adult division- Adult classes are offered at many levels: basic, beginner, and intermediate. Young adults and teens are welcome too! Ballet conditioning is encouraged for all levels. We now offer beginner pointe for those farther along in their training.
Levels
Levels are determined by many factors such as maturity, and technical ability. The ages below are just a guideline. Unlike school, dancers do not move onto the next level every year. Some levels take 3 or 4 years to complete before you are ready to move on. New students with previous training should take a trial class to be placed in the proper level.
Children’s Introductory/ Pre-Ballet- 4 years old- kindergarten, 45 mins, 1 class a week
Beginner/ Ballet I- 1st grade- 12 years old, 1hr 15min, 1 class a week
Beginner Intermediate/ Ballet II- 7-12 years old, 1hr 15min, 2 classes a week
Intermediate/ Ballet III- 1 hr 30 min, 3-4 classes a week
Advanced- 2hrs, 4-5 classes a week
At every level, students are using French ballet vocabulary. In Ballet I and above, students are given a very simple “word of the week” definition. Students are expected to complete this assignment every week, nothing is graded. This is a way to supplement what they are learning in class, as this is a new language to them and they are given new information and vocabulary in every class.
